This educational and rich in diverse events tour will take the guests to Kamchatka’s most interesting areas of modern volcanic activity.    
During the tour, you will visit unique Kamchatka destinations: the Mutnovsky and the Gorely active volcanoes which are considered Kamchatka’s most beautiful volcanoes. 

You will travel the Kamchatka Peninsula from south to the north and cross several climate zones. You will reach the heart of Kamchatka, with its largest volcanoes of Eurasia. You will have a chance to visit one of Kamchatka’s most interesting attractions – the Klyuchevsky group of volcanoes including its tallest and most famous Klyuchevskaya Sopka volcano (4750m) located in the area of most intensive volcanic activity in Russia. 

You will also have a chance to visit most interesting sites of Tolbachinsky Volcano eruption of 2013 (its new cone, vast lava fields, lava passing caves and other places).
You will climb the volcanic cones of 1975 Northern breakout (299 and 278m) and take a tour of the Dead Forest, the vast area which was burned down during an eruption. You will also visit the village of Kozyrevsk, an original settlement on the banks of the Kamchatka river populated by local hunters, fishers and woodcutters.

You will have a chance to go fishing and to watch rich local wildlife such as different species of birds and salmon spawning and, with a bit of luck, Kamchatka brown bears.

Itinerary (show)
Day 1.
Pickup from the airport and transfer to Petropavlovsk (25km). Check in at a hotel (DBL). Time to rest or take a walk in the city. 20.00 meeting with your guide and dinner, discussing details of the itinerary.

Day 2.
Helicopter tour (optional) to Geyser Valley and to the caldera of Uzon volcano including flying around the Karymsky (1486m) and Maly Semyachik (1560m) volcanoes, walking tour and swimming in natural thermal springs (price in summer season of 2014, 33 000 rubles per person), or:
(also optional) Motor boat cruise to Avacha Bay. Tour of Babushkin Kamen (Grannys rock) and Tri Brata (Three Brothers) islands with their sea birds nesting places. Cruise into the Pacific (up to Starichkov Island). Tour of Kamchatkas largest sea birds nesting place (including nesting places of the sea eagle). Lunch of local salmon. On the way, guests may also encounter dolphins, sea lions and killer whales (Price: 3800-4000 rubles per person).

After the tour, jeep transfer across the Vilyuchinsky and Gorely volcanoes plateau to the Mutnovsky volcano area (90km). Setting up a camp, night sleep in tents.

Day 3.
Ascent of the Mutnovsky volcano crater (2323m). Tour of active fumaroles, mud siphons and the mountain lake. The crater of Mutnovsky volcano is one of Kamchatkas most scenic volcanic phenomena. The deep and wide crater cavity is surrounded by steep walls, inside it there are glittering glaciers broken by deep cracks and holes of boiling fumaroles (duration, 6-10 hours). Night sleep in tents.

Day 4.
Ascent of the Gorely Volcano (1829m), walk along lava streams and slag fields, tour of 3 craters and their lakes (duration: 5-6 hours). In the evening, transfer to tourist camp in Paratunka resort area. Check in at the camp, time to rest and swim in thermal water pool.

Day 5.
(optional) Helicopter tour to Geyser Valley (if not taken earlier because of the weather), or Sea cruise.
In the evening, jeep transfer to Malki village area (130km). Setting up a camp, swimming in thermal springs.

Day 6.
Jeep transfer to Kluychevsky volcano group area (460km). Lunch at a café in Milkovo village (not included into the price). Driving up to the foot of Kamchatkas most scenic volcanic mass made up by the Ostry and Plosky Tolbachik volcanoes.
On the way, under good weather conditions, guests will enjoy the panorama of Kamchatkas tallest volcanoes: Krestovsky (4057), Ushakovsky (3903m), Plosky Tolbachik (3082m) and Ostry Tolbachik (3672m). Night sleep in tents.

Day 7.
Tour of after-effects of 2013 eruption (the new cone, vast new lava fields, lava passing caves, stone images and congealed lava conglomerates.

Day 8.
Automobile tour to Northern Breakout. Ascent of the Tolbachik cones miniature volcanoes 150-200m tall each. Transfer to South Breakout (15km). Tour of South Breakout cones and the Dead Forest which was burned down during slag and ash eruption of 1975. Return to the camp. Night sleep in tents.

Day 9.
Transfer to the village of Kosyrevsk located on the banks of the Kamchatka river (90km). Accommodation at a private tourist camp of wooden cabins. Traditional Russian steam bath.
Walking tour of one of the oldest villages in Kamchatka area founded on the site of a stockade built by the Itelmens, Kamchatka indigenous tribe.
Visit of a local art and crafts shop and store and transfer to a photo site with its panoramic view of the village, the Kamchatka river and volcanoes.

Day 10.
Motor cat transfer to Malki village (350km). On the way, stop for lunch in Milkovo village (not included into the price, paid for extra). An excursion to the ethnographic museum of the Kamchatka river area folks.
Start of rafting down the Bystraya river. Night sleep in tents on the river bank.

Day 11.
Rafting continued. Passing of two rapids. On the way, guests will have a chance to fish, pick mushrooms and berries, watch seagulls and wild ducks, and, with a bit of luck, see a bear or a sea eagle which makes rafting down the river an exciting adventure. Night sleep in tents.

Day 12.
End of rafting, with passing of one rapid. Motor car transfer to Petropavlovsk (180km). Check in at hotel, farewell dinner.

Day 13.
Breakfast. At 9.00, transfer to fish market. Transfer to the airport, departure.

Helicopter tour to Geyser Valley and the caldera of the Uzun volcano only takes place under good weather conditions, and is paid for additionally. In summer 2014 the price per person was 33000 rubles.
